Can Polygon labels be used for Video Object Detection and Tracking template, or is it only possible with VideoRectangle, aka bounding boxes?

Answer
Unfortunately, as of now, polygon labels are not supported for Video Object Detection and Tracking in Label Studio. This is an important consideration for those who require more nuanced labelling techniques for objects that don’t fit neatly into rectangular shapes.

Is there any possibility that polygon label support for video object detection and tracking will be introduced in the near future?

Answer
At the moment, introducing polygon label functionality for video object tracking isn’t part of their immediate roadmap. But we might be interested in contributions! Please make an issue on Github and tag me @sajarin if you’re interested in working on this feature.
